Which low cost airlines?
We focus on the new generation of 'web-based' airlines, often referred to as Low Cost or Budget Airlines. Although our definition is broader; the airlines we offer to compare and book must comply to the following:
1. Web-fares based on a one-way flights (point-to-point) and therefore not automatically return fares; 2. One service class; 3. On-line book able via the Internet; 4. 'paperless' tickets or e-ticketing (the confirmed reservation is presented by a booking reference number/code); 5. Acceptance of Credit / Debit Cards (e.g. Visa, MasterCard and American Express) as payment method;
We automatically add new routes, destinations and low cost airlines that meet the above criteria. We are therefore constantly up-to-date with our offerings.
Currently we offer over 75, mainly European, Low Cost airlines, but will grow with the expansion of Low Cost airlines in e.g. Asia, Pacific and South America.
Which destinations and routes?
All flights & destinations operated by Low Cost carriers from and to your chosen Area/Country.
We show you all available flights for the route(s) and dates you selected based on the lowest fares, from and to each of the regions, allowing you to select your personal preferences for both your outbound and return flights from all the presented options. We automatically add all new routes and airlines and are therefore always up to date. Routes which are not operated by the airline anymore will be removed.
How do I know which airline operates the flight?
After you have made your selection(s), we show you on the next page (booking page) together with the total costs, the name(s) of the airline(s) and flight number(s) you have selected.
Why not any traditional airlines (yet)?
Traditional or so called ‘full-service’ airlines, do not (yet) offer all their web fares based on one-way flights. Their promotional fares are offered irregularly and are mainly based on a roundtrip, often with (too many) specific booking conditions. Their conditions and fares, therefore, can not be compared within our neutral price-comparing model. However, there are clear indications that they will gradually change their pricing policy and structure in the near future, in order to compete with the so called low cost airlines.
As soon as they introduce routes and fares based on the Budget airlines concept (see 'which airlines') we will add these flight options to the content, offering you an even wider choice next to some additional advantages these airlines may offer. Some routes operated by British Airways, British Midlands, Aer Lingus and Lufthansa, have been added already.
Can I book my hotel and car rental via wegolo?
Yes. See the buttons "Beds" and "Wheels" on our homepage.
On the "Beds" page we have partnered with Booking.com who offers a variety of excellent hotel accommodations. More suppliers will be added by the end of 2008, varying from City Hotels, Design Hotels, Apartments, Villas to Bed Breakfast and Campsites.
Click on "Wheels" for car rentals. By the end of 2008 a selection of more specialist suppliers will be added; e.g. Taxi's, Transfers from and to the airport, parking facilities, etc.
All these selected operators and their products and services have their own specific conditions which are not related to the terms and conditions of PR Aviation BV. Booking these products and services should be seen as an independent agreement and can not be related in any way to the terms and conditions of PR Aviation BV, neither are we responsible for the delivery and ex ecution of these partners and the various bookings can not be considered as an entire or package trip.
Why a cancellation insurance?
Low Cost airlines do not offer standard cancellation policies and most of them do not refund you in case of a cancellation of your booking(s).
Due to this non-refund policy and to the benefit of our customers we believe it's necessary to offer a cancellation insurance. In cooperation with the Europeesche, a specialist in travel insurances, we developed a special insurance policy for various European and non-European citizens, which gives you the on-line opportunity to simply click ‘yes’ or ‘no’. For a small amount (depending on the number of passengers), you are insured against these, often high, cancellation costs.
Why not an automatic travel insurance?
Due to the various differences between all the national laws regarding travel insurances for both European and non-European citizens, and considering the international character of our customers, it is at this point impossible to offer an automatic and generic travel insurance. However, after you have received the confirmation of your booking, we offer you the possibility to separately acquire a travel insurance, when in a legal accordance with your personal profile.
why e-tickets?
All the information about your reservation is stored in the airline(s) database(s) and generates a personal reference number. After your booking you will receive your confirmation and flight details via e-mail, together with the(se) reference number(s). Print this information and reference number as proof of your reservation(s).
When checking in at the airport, it will be sufficient to show your passport and your booking confirmation (reference number = e-ticket) to receive your boarding pass. (Some airlines may additionally ask for your credit card).
The advantages of e-tickets are e.g. - you can not loose or forget the e-ticket; - no extra costs for issuing, delivering or collecting of these tickets.
Note: Exchange of e-tickets is not possible, neither between the Low Cost airlines, nor with the traditional airlines, nor can they be transferred to other passengers.
Concept
Why can't I choose an airport as a destination?
We choose a model whereby a (home) city is considered the destination instead of a particular airport. This creates more flexibility and offers you a larger choice of travel possibilities in terms of prices and schedules.
Example: The airport of the city of Girona is used by e.g. Ryanair as destination Barcelona. When you search for a flight to Barcelona, we will also show you Girona as an additional alternative for Barcelona.
Why can't I find a destination?
Our product focuses on so-called Low Cost airlines. 90% of them focus on flight routes between 2 airports either 'domestic' (f.i. within the UK) or international connections within Europe and beyond. Only some of them operate on intercontinental routes. We are constantly adding more airlines and flight routes in various parts of the world, where the Low Cost Airline-concept is introduced. You may already find some destinations within the Middle East, India, and Far East. Low cost flights routes within Australia and South America will be added by the end of 2008.
A different reason can be that the destination you are searching for is not (yet) used by a Low Cost airline from the country/region or it's border area that you have selected.
We only show the routes which are available from the selected departure city or region.
For all - mainly long haul - destinations which are not available in our destinations list, you can use a different operator which can be found on e.g. comparison sites like www.kayak.com and www.kelkoo.com.
What is meant with departure Country and/or Region/City?
We defined several specific departure regions because many Low Cost airlines operate from less known or regional airports. In most cases, these departure regions are based on their international borders, including the country border area. This provides more options to travel from and to a certain region.
This enables you to find fares from several departure cities, giving you more options to choose from.
In some particular cases we will show you not only the requested destination, but also some other cities which are situated in the vicinity, even if they are located in a different country, just across the border. This can be useful in making your final choice, as there are substantial differences in ticket prices between the Low Cost airlines.
Important: Bear in mind that, depending on your nationality, you may require an entry visa for the arrival countries you've selected.
Can I combine multiple destinations?
By using different departure regions, you have the possibility to book, although separately, unlimited routes and create your own “Low Cost Europe Airpass”.
This way you can travel e.g. from Amsterdam to London, from London to Rome, from Rome to Madrid, from Madrid to Brussel, etc.
What are “all-in” prices?
In spite of the new regulations introduced by the European Union, to protect consumers from misleading advertising, some Low Cost airlines still advertise with so-called “promotional” or “as from” prices, mostly based on a single trip and excluding all inevitable additional taxes and extra costs. These additional fees and hidden costs vary per airline, and are only presented at the end of their booking process on their individual website(s).
That's why we present you, in one view, the total price including these hidden additional costs, resulting in an unbiased price comparison. At first glance, it may appear, that we show higher fares as on the airline's websites... but this is only a perception! When you click on “Price” you will see the specifications of all these price components.
Important: Our site shows automatically the total amount for all passengers together instead of per person.
The ticket prices are based on 'real-time' availability and are subject to changes at all times, due to the used yield management and 'fluid-pricing' systems used by Budget Airlines. This applies to all routes and airlines and for both the outward and return flight. In general we could say; the earlier you book, the lower the prices will be. When making your booking via our site, the handling fee applied by PR Aviation BV is shown separately.
Why do I see other destinations then the one I selected?
In some particular cases we will show you not only the requested destination, but also some other cities which are situated in the vicinity, even if they are located in a different country, just across the border. This can be useful in making your final choice, as there are substantial differences in ticket prices between these Low Cost airlines.
Important: Bear in mind that, depending on your nationality, you may require an entry visa for your selected destination/country of arrival.
Payments
How and when does the payment take place?
Mainly with Credit / Debit cards from VISA, MasterCard or American Express. As our service is for international customers and because this method is supported by almost all Low Cost airlines. We are in the process of adding more card types and/or payment methods.
After the data you inserted has been checked, it is sent via a secure environment to the appropriate supplier. Make sure you enter all data correctly and completely!
Important: Your balance needs to be sufficient for the total amount. Insufficient balance can cause a partial process of your reservation, which cannot be refunded. You will then have to make a completely new booking for the missing flight(s) in your original booking.
Check the expiring date of your credit card and make sure it is still valid after your return flight date, as some airlines will charge your card just shortly before your journey takes place.
Can I make a reservation without a credit card?
Unfortunately, without a worldwide accepted credit card, or, in some cases a debit card, it is not possible to make a reservation through our site.
Can I make a booking for someone else with my credit card?
It is possible to make a reservation for somebody else. The passenger data needs to be filled out in the passenger details section and your own data should be entered in the contact and payment details.
Is my payment secured?
To prevent unauthorized access and make sure your data is being handled securely, we use the latest and most common Internet protection methods and technologies.
To protect your private details during the booking process we use a Secure Socket Layer (SSL), a protection system for the internet. With this system the data transfer between you, our site and the appropriate suppliers is encoded. This information is inaccessible to others, including your payment details.
A page is protected when you see a padlock icon on the bottom of your screen. Most browsers support SSL, if you are not sure if your browser support SSL, check your browser details with your Internet Service Provider.
Is my personal data protected?
We acknowledge the importance in protecting your personal data and only transfer this data to the suppliers in order to realize your booking(s).
We will not sell, nor use this information for other purposes then for the payments as described above.
Can exchange rates differ when converting currencies?
In case you have booked flights to or from destinations using a currency other than the one applicable for the selected Area/Country of departure, minor exchange rate fluctuations may occur in the presentation of the “all-in” fares, due to the current currency exchange rate. We update the exchange rates on a daily basis and use the latest applicable exchange rates at the time of your booking. The final amount charged to your credit card may, therefore, could show a minor difference.
Procedures
How can I book a return flight?
On the found flights page we will show you all outbound and (underneath) all return flights. You first select your outbound and then the return flight of your choice. This can be with two different airlines in case the combination of price and schedule are more favorable then a roundtrip with the same airline.
Please double check your selection carefully for both your departure as arrival city/airport
If you want to fly back from a different destination or even country, first book your one-way flight from your Area/Country of departure and proceed to the website to choose the Area/Country from where you would like to book your return flight.
Book creative: For a so-called “Fly & Drive” you can e.g. fly to Barcelona and return from Malaga, in which you rent a car to travel between Barcelona and Malaga.
Can you (PR Aviation BV) assist me with my booking?
Our products are specifically designed as a user friendly “self-service” search, compare and book engine,
PR Aviation BV is NOT a travel agency and can not assist you in making reservations other than through our website(s).
For groups with more than 9 passengers, or passengers with specific needs or individual care, we recommend you to contact the airlines directly.
For intercontinental routes (e.g. USA, Canada, Asia, Australia) we suggest you to use different operators which can be found on e.g. www.kayak.com or contact your local travel agent. This is also recommended for routes not operated by a Low Cost airline.
What does “Not Confirmed” mean on my flight confirmation?
The “Not Confirmed” message on the confirmation page i.e. e-mail, were you should find a reservation code (e-ticket) from the airline, can mean e.g. the following: # the airline’s response time to confirm your booking took too much time ; # the credit card was rejected (error message); # a technical problem occurred with the connection to the airlines system; # the airlines reservation system is temporarily unavailable; # the seat(s) is no longer available for the selected fare; # the seat(s) is no longer available at all.
As a consequence, your booking, or a part of it, was not confirmed and no payment took place either. You will have to start over to book the non-confirmed part of your initial booking.
Our Service Team informs the customer(s) in these situations via e-mail about a) the problem which occurred, b) the action they took (if possible) and c) the steps to follow for the customer.
How can I change a booked flight?
PR Aviation BV is NOT a travel agency and we also do not have you credit card details on file. You will have to contact the appropriate airline(s) directly to have them make the change.
Depending on which low cost airline, you can either use their website directly, or go via their call centre to apply a change to your reservation. This can vary from a change in passenger name, schedules and destinations. These changes, if approved by the airline, are not always free of charge.
On the email confirmation you received from PR Aviation you can find where to change your ticket(s) and the login details, if necessary.
In order for the airline to process your change, you must have your “reservation number” (e-ticket) at hand.
How long in advance can I make my booking?
With most airlines, you can make your reservation 6 months ahead of your departure date, which will give you more chance to get the cheapest fares. Please note that flight schedules are season-tied and most airlines introduce their schedules for the winter and summer season, roughly 6 months in advance. o Summer season -- April through September o Winter season -- October through March
Note: If any schedule changes occur after you made your booking, you will be informed automatically by the airline(s) via the e-mail address you used during your reservation.
Why are the fares changing regularly?
Low Cost airlines use a so-called ‘fluid-pricing-model’, this means the web fares can practically change at any given time and are defined by each airline according to their various business models. For the cheapest fares, the airlines allocate a certain (limited) number of seats. Once they are booked, they move up to the second cheapest fares and so on.
In general we can state that you get the most benefits, the earlier you book.
How can I book the extra services offered by some low cost airlines?
Some airlines offer extra services, such as speedy boarding, the possibility for online ‘check-in’, etc., these extra’s must be booked directly with the particular airline(s). Please keep your booking reference (e-ticket) with you while contacting them.
What if I have a reservation with an airline which has ended their service?
In case an airline ceases to operate certain routes, or completely ceased operations, you will be directly notified by them via the e-mail address you entered during your reservation.
Either alternative flights or a refund of your ticket(s) will be proposed. We, however, can not guarantee this, nor can we be held responsible, since PR Aviation does not act as a representative of the airlines. See also: Why a cancellation insurance?
The site is not working. Why not?
Our websites are being maintained regularly and may be inactive for just a short period at the time you were performing a search or booking. A warning/error page should display. Normally this maintenance activity is limited to 10-15 minutes. Our websites are accessible 7 days by 24 hours a day from all over the world.
The use of older browser versions may cause problems. We recommend using minimally versions 4.x, or higher, of Netscape and Internet Explorer.
It is also possible that you configured the security of your network / PC such that certain pages can not be displayed.
Problems can be caused by the settings of your browser as well, the use of "old" pages from local cache, or simply the fact that our servers are somewhat overloaded. If the latter, it can take up to 30 seconds to display the list of departure regions/cities en/or destinations from our database.
If none of the above seems to work, try to restart the website in a new browser window, or press the refresh (F5) button.
FYI: Within the search- (home-)page we use special XmlHttpRequest ("AJAX") techniques. Also check whether you allow for JavaScript to be user (Javascript enabled).
Why do I get the booking/order page displayed every time?
When you pressed the "Order" button once and, instead of the confirmation page being displayed (within max 2 minutes), the booking/order page is displayed over and over again, you must have entered one or more fields incorrectly/incompletely, or you didn't check one of the boxes to confirm that you read and accept the terms & conditions.
'Error messages" are automatically displayed in red close to the field where the mistake was made. You may have to ‘scroll’ the page vertically to find the error.
Contact us if you didn't find the answer to your question.
